Welcome Readers!

Right since we undertook this venture two years ago, our clear aim has been to offer comprehensive insight and a detailed guide to configuring the Sales and Distribution application of SAP. We have boiled down our years of experience and knowledge and laid it down in the pages of this book. Our aim is not to give you a theoretical tome but a practical guide, filled with tips, tricks and a real-life case study to illustrate the application of the concepts that you will learn here.

Who this book is for?

This book is meant to be a versatile guide for all readers – no matter what your current experience with SAP.

Guide for the novice – This book starts with the basic concepts and explains the initial steps you will need to get started. Supplementary material on this website will also assist you in understanding SAP. It is very important to understand real life business scenarios where you can apply the concepts learnt here. The case study in this book will help in that direction.

Reference for the SD expert – Those of you who are already working in the SD area can use this book as a quick reference on specific points and queries. Perhaps you need to learn more about a functionality that you haven’t had a chance to use until now, or you want to know what has changed in ECC 6.0 version. Useful OSS notes from SAP, tips and warnings will add to the value of this book.

Interface guide for other experts– If you are already onboard with SAP in another application area such as MM, WM, FICO and you are seeking inputs or specific integration points with SD, you can read specific topics that are of interest to you.
